Mimi Fallon (They/Them) is a multimedia artist and student at Northeastern University majoring in Media Arts. They primarily work with the moving image, producing both stop-motion and live action pieces, while also exploring the disciplines of photography and performance. Fallon’s work aims to depict stories from their own life that resonate with the experiences of their peers, especially those within the queer community. These experiences are examined through themes of nostalgia, friendship, and a fleeting childhood, while also seeking to interrogate societal norms, and reject the gender binary. These ideas intertwine and weave themselves into a framework that can be traced across Fallon’s work, a through line of growing up, growing into yourself, or growing out of an old self - a self that no longer fits. This is characterized visually through their use of layered imagery and abstraction of both the human form and experience.
